Team, wear you bean?

I bean belly busy. In and out of the country, etc. and my powerbook is also on the fritz - cutting down on my communication tools ....as of tomorrow it is on it's way to 'AppleCare' once again. Free Advice: Never buy a new powerbook w/out also purchasing the extended warranty. 'nuff said.

Excuses finished, I first want to comment on the fact that Jody has actually surpassed me in bloggage-ville with two entries to my one. I hope this blog will at least afford me a tie for second.

I have been getting many comments from friends and fans anticipating the release of CJ3 - everyone wants an advance copy, which is both nice and a pain, but the interest is intriguing. It's funny how a project like this can bring out the Closet Crimson fan in in so many people!

Speaking of people - I actually SAW the good drummer-friend, Ian W. at a session this last Friday. A fun recording for a Nat'l Geographic documentary with the music written by our mutual friend, Greg Chun. Greg is such a talented guy and a 'yo-cat' 'cuz he also treated the drummer and bass player to a yummy Indian lunch! Not a bad way to treat your rhythm section and to spend a lazy afternoon, I should coco!

In non CJ3 world I have been working most of the summer on a new recording for Loreena McKinnett, a Canadian singer songwriter who usually records at Peter Gabriel's 'Real World' studio in Box, England (which is where I spent the first two weeks of July) then on to Greece and Canada after that.

At home; Jim Goodwin (The Call) and Robert Medici (5 for Fighting) have a production company called "EggChair" and have employed me to play bass on their last two projects - one singer songwriter in particular to look out for named Brian Flannery - I have also been on the production end on two projects back at my own studio in Los Angeles (Mudzone, which is where we recorded CJ3, BTW). I am just starting a new project with a wonderfully talented vocalist named Charles Billingsley and also finishing some mixing for New Age artist John Tesh.

All the while I have been thinking about the upcoming release and accompanying gigs for CJ3 this fall. It's going to be such a blast playing these tunes live and I really hope enough people get to hear this trio - both live and on CD.

Okay that's it for tonight - next time I'll probably be raving about my new favorite TV series; Rome.

See Ya! - TL
